About The Position

The Specimen Collector at OnPoint Lab is responsible for collecting urine specimens and managing patient interactions in a medical office setting. This role requires knowledge of laboratory procedures and the ability to prepare specimens for testing, ensuring compliance with HIPAA guidelines and maintaining accurate patient records.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 1 year of medical office experience
• 1 year of laboratory experience
• Knowledge of specimen collection and processing
• Ability to communicate respectfully and thoroughly with patients and staff members.

• Laboratory experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Collect, label, appropriately prepare and store lab samples according to laboratory specifications.
• Manage patient scheduling and input data into patient charts.
• Order collection supplies and ship collected labs.
• Retrieve results and follow up with patients in a timely manner.
• Prepare lab requisitions in the computer by acquiring all required information and entering patient information into the management database.
• Dress in compliance with the client's requirements.
• Ensure collection lab specimens are packaged securely for courier.
