Requirements

  • Degree in pharmacy from an accredited School of Pharmacy; Pharm. D. Degree preferred.
  • Licensed in the state of Illinois; additional multi-state licensure preferred.
  • Ability to complete a background check and drug screen.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience as a licensed pharmacist.
  • Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in home infusion or specialty pharmacy preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Dispensing prescriptions and coordinating clinical services for Specialty Pharmacy patients.
  • Interacting with healthcare professionals to provide and coordinate customer care.
  • Advising and educating physicians on patient issues concerning drug therapy, toxicity, side effects, and appropriate dosing.
  • Data entry, verification of prescriptions, and checking of orders.
  • Coordinating activities of pharmacy technicians in the preparation, labeling, and delivery of medications.
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations regarding drug dispensing and record maintenance.
  • Conducting and evaluating medication histories, assessing compliance, and suggesting modifications for desired outcomes.
  • Providing educational assistance to patients, families, and caregivers regarding therapy and treatment.
  • Participating in on-call rotation and activities.
  • Traveling up to 10% between pharmacies in IL and OH.
