About The Position

The Specialty Sales Team Leader at Target is responsible for leading a team of specialized consultants to enhance guest experiences in various departments, including Apparel and Accessories, Home, Baby, Beauty, and Electronics. This role focuses on delivering exceptional service, managing sales goals, and ensuring effective merchandising while fostering a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Team Leader will also support team development and operational excellence to meet business priorities and enhance guest engagement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to lead and hold others accountable.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude.
  • Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience in retail management or leadership roles.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience.
  • Model, train, and coach team member expectations to deliver on the guest service model culture.
  • Plan daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver sales goals.
  • Lead multiple businesses, balancing team member expertise and effectively leading teams in each department.
  • Develop, coach, and lead a team of consultants knowledgeable about various departments.
  • Encourage team to use available tools to welcome and inspire guests.
  • Partner with third-party vendors to ensure brand standards and merchandising are met.
  • Support execution of revisions, sales plans, and visual merchandising for defined categories.
  • Create inspiring visual moments and ensure product organization and signage.
  • Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team.
  • Support team onboarding and help close product knowledge and skill gaps.
  • Ensure fitting rooms are welcoming, clean, and safe.
  • Establish clear goals and expectations and hold team members accountable.
  • Model a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance.
  • Address store needs such as emergencies and regulatory visits.
