About The Position

The Specialty Sales Team Leader at Target is responsible for leading a team of specialized consultants to enhance guest experiences in various departments, including Apparel and Accessories, Home, Baby, Beauty, and Electronics. This role focuses on delivering exceptional service, managing sales goals, and ensuring effective merchandising practices. The Team Leader will also prioritize team development and foster a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the team.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners.
  • Work independently and as part of a team.
  • Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
  • Welcoming and helpful attitude.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in retail management or leadership roles.
  • Knowledge of merchandising and visual presentation techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience.
  • Model, train, and coach team member expectations to deliver on the guest service model culture.
  • Understand sales goals and plan daily/weekly workload to deliver on department and store sales goals.
  • Lead and demonstrate a culture of executing best practices with team onboarding and learning.
  • Develop, coach, and lead a team of consultants knowledgeable about various departments.
  • Encourage team to use available tools to welcome and influence guests.
  • Partner with third-party vendors to ensure brand standards are met.
  • Support the execution of revisions, sales plans, and visual merchandising for defined categories.
  • Evaluate candidates for open positions and develop a guest-centric team.
  • Ensure fitting rooms are welcoming, clean, and safe.
  • Support guest services such as back-up cashier and order pick up.
  • Model a safety advocacy culture and hold the team accountable to safety standards.
