About The Position

The Specialty RN or Paramedic position at Mercy Hospital Ft Smith involves providing patient care in the Schwarz Cardiology department. The role requires utilizing the nursing process to ensure effective patient care, maintaining professional accountability, and coordinating with other departments. The Cardiovascular Paramedic will support the clinic by providing care to patients and working in various assigned areas, including the Cardiology Stress Lab.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing for RN.
  • Current valid state license for RN.
  • CPR certification or obtain within 90 days of employment for RN.
  • Successful completion of Paramedic training program for Paramedic.
  • Advanced ECG interpretation skills required for Paramedic.
  • Current valid Arkansas license issued by the Arkansas State Department of Health as a Paramedic.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support and ACLS for Paramedic.
  • Preferred two (2) years' experience in a Cardiac Stress Lab or two (2) years of hospital and/or pre-hospital experience for Paramedic.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
  • Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for assigned patients.
  • Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.
  • Coordinates patient care in conjunction with other departments.
  • Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.
  • Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with the organization's mission, values, and service standards.
  • Supports and provides care to all Mercy Cardiology clinic patients.
  • Works in assigned areas as well as in the Cardiology Stress Lab.
