About The Position

The position is responsible for overseeing the quality, consistency, and production of the specialty restaurant kitchen at the Tampa Marriott Water Street. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with 4 years of experience in culinary or related field.
  • 2-year degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with 2 years of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for the quality and production of the specialty restaurant kitchen.
  • Exhibits culinary talents by performing tasks while leading the staff.
  • Coordinates menus, purchasing, staffing, and food preparation for the restaurant.
  • Works with the team to improve guest and employee satisfaction.
  • Ensures sanitation and food standards are achieved.
  • Develops and trains the kitchen team to improve results.
  • Supervises kitchen shift operations and ensures compliance with Food & Beverage policies.
  • Maintains food preparation handling and correct storage standards.
  • Plans and manages food quantities and plating requirements.
  • Communicates production needs to key personnel.
  • Assists in developing daily and seasonal menu items.
  • Checks the quality of raw and cooked food products.
  • Determines food presentation and creates decorative displays.
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of cooks and kitchen staff.
  • Leads shift teams while preparing food items based on specifications.
  • Encourages mutual trust and cooperation among team members.
  • Sets and supports achievement of kitchen goals including performance and budget goals.
  • Provides exceptional customer service and manages day-to-day operations.
  • Handles guest problems and complaints effectively.
