About The Position

The Oncology RN is responsible for coordinating patient care. Assesses information that is given to them from the patient via phone or in person, communicating information to providers and obtains orders if needed. Provides triaging to patients with symptom management and provides recommendations from the provider. Triages patient phone calls to assist with management of side effects from treatment and determine if patient needs to be seen within the clinic more urgently. Assists with medication refills and coordination of care.

Demonstrates competency in selected psychomotor skills.
Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, non-verbal and written methods.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations related to medication administration and equipment calibration. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
Registered Nurse - KSBN Required
Basic Life Support - BLS RQI or other certifications may be required in lieu of or in addition to BLS depending on department. Must have within 90 days of hire.

Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) Preferred
Experience in a clinic setting.

Delivers professional nursing care guided by Jean Watson’s Theory of Human Caring illustrated by creating caring relationships, taking time to have uninterrupted moments with patients and displaying unconditional acceptance and respect.
