Specialty Production Supervisor Department: Production Location: Spring Hill, TN The Specialty Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Specialty Department which includes Stick Pack and Capsule production, and ensures employees follow all safety practices/procedures, and produce quality products.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in a production leadership role
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to demonstrate effective leadership skills
  • Intermediate math, communication, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to follow and enforce GMP and SOP guidelines
  • Must be able to extract and analyze data from the JDE/RFS system
  • Ability to give detailed instructions to staff for performing daily tasks
  • Ability to stand for extended hours
  • Ability to sit for extended hours
  • Ability to view a computer screen and type for extended hours
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Other physical requirements include frequent squatting, bending, and twisting
  • Ability to make frequent rounds in a warehouse environment
  • Must be able to wear any required PPE such as scrubs, hair net, lab coat, and facemask
  • Ability to work in a packaging area with a moderate powder substance in the air with or without a respirator
  • Ability to work around a variation of different smells and aromas
  • Ability to adjust work schedule as business needs require

Responsibilities

  • Champion the Company’s core values
  • Develop and supervise direct reports in a manner that fosters accountability and a safe sense of urgency
  • Oversee and supervise the execution of approved processes to manufacture high quality bottles, capsules, bags and stick packs that meet customer specifications, and align with the companies OEE goals and financial requirements
  • Make necessary staffing/overtime adjustments that align with the company’s weekly goals and direct labor requirements
  • Manage production deadlines that align with internal and external customer expectations
  • Ensure regulatory compliance in EHS
  • Maintain high accountability of the Specialty Production Team utilizing Redzone and other applicable software
  • Foster a continuous improvement culture, focused on achieving zero accidents and driving out waste from our manufacturing processes
  • Train employees on safe practices, encourage employee involvement, and address safety issues in the workplace
  • Comply with rules of the government and certifying organizations including the FDA, Organic, Kosher, Halal, NSF and BRC
  • Drive best practices in sanitation and cGMPs
  • Customer retains must pass thorough inspection and be physically/systematically in the proper location
  • Provide consistent leadership in managing people and providing all employees a positive, engaging work environment
  • Complete monthly one on ones in a timely and professional manner
  • Drive execution of accurate inventory transactions to ensure accurate inventory of >95%
  • Drive sustainment of all kaizen events
  • Follow and enforce cGMP guidelines and processes as established in department SOPs
  • Perform other duties as assigned
