As a Specialty Process Technician at Sonoco, you will work in production for our tube and core division, reporting to the shift supervisor. Your role will involve working in a quick and safe manner, with excellent attendance being crucial for team success. You will need to have a proven record of success in a fast-paced environment and the ability to work with various teams while spotting defects in the packing line. This position requires strong hands-on and analytical abilities, organizational skills, and attention to detail.

  • Fills a variety of roles in production operations as needed.
  • Sets up, operates, and maintains production equipment or machinery.
  • Prepares, inspects, or measures materials.
  • Checks components for compliance with tolerances or specifications; performs finish work.
  • Packages, stores, and ships completed goods.
  • Performs work under general supervision.
  • Must be able to drive or learn to drive a forklift to move carts, pallets, supplies and to load/unload truck.
  • The ability to follow work instructions is required.
  • The ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds is required.
  • The ability to stand and/or walk up to 90% of the time is required.
