As a Specialty Process Technician at Sonoco, you will work in production for our tube and core division, reporting to the shift supervisor. Your role will involve working in a quick and safe manner, with excellent attendance being crucial for team success. You must have a proven record of success in a fast-paced environment and the ability to work with various teams. Attention to detail is essential as you will be responsible for spotting defects in the packing line and taking pride in your personal hands-on and analytical abilities.

  • Fills a variety of roles in production operations as needed.
  • Sets up, operates, and maintains production equipment or machinery.
  • Prepares, inspects, or measures materials.
  • Checks components for compliance with tolerances or specifications; performs finish work.
  • Packages, stores, and ships completed goods.
  • Performs work under general supervision.
  • Must be able to drive or learn to drive a forklift to move carts, pallets, supplies and to load/unload truck.
  • The ability to follow work instructions is required.
  • The ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds is required.
  • The ability to stand and/or walk up to 90% of the time is required.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
