This position is a career ladder position for technical staff within the Department of Pharmacy. It is intended to recognize the colleagues development, experience and service to the department and co-workers. The primary differences between a pharmacy technician II and a pharmacy technician III are; 1) completion of Immunization Administration Certificate and 2) BLS. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of MercyOne. Assists pharmacists in receiving, processing and preparing provider's orders Receives rx from patient, collects appropriate information to process rx (demographics, insurance, allergies, current medications) Processes prescriptions accurately and efficiently Obtains correct medication, strength, dosage form and quantity to complete order Prepares/fills prescription for pharmacist verification Utilizes Pharmacy-at-a-Glance in QS1 to monitor workload and prioritize tasks Pharmacy Tech II only - Receives telephone prescription orders from providers (repeat back and verify information) Utilizes Eyecons to count all meds capable of being counted on Eyecons. Double count all meds (except for RxMedic drugs) and back count CIIs. Processes Return to Stocks daily. Covenant Family Pharmacy ONLY - Selects appropriate product (including package size) for RxMedic. Troubleshoots and calls RxMedic if necessary. Assists with pharmacy enhanced services Performs Time My Meds daily tasks - Posting, Informational Review, Notes, Will Call Bin Check, Days Supply Mismatch Actively recruits and enrolls med sync patients. Accurately makes necessary adjustments within Time My Meds and patient chart to reflect med changes or schedule changes. Identifies patients in need of med adherence packaging and refers to our program. Promotes vaccination services, especially during cold/flu season and during other vaccination initiatives. Promotes iMedicare and our assistance in providing information for Medicare Part D enrollment. Covenant Family Pharmacy ONLY - Identifies and prioritizes Transitions of Care prescriptions. Follows appropriate procedures according to Transitions of Care program.
