About The Position

Hybrid requires 2 days on-site per week M-F Job Summary: Accurately inputs patient, insurance, and prescription information into the pharmacy system. Answers incoming calls and assists callers with non-clinical inquiries. Resolves and ensures proper adjudication of claims. Confirm patient benefits with insurance and determine required authorizations to assist the patient with coverage of therapy prescribed.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• License Mass Registered Pharmacy Tech required.
• 1-3 years related work experience required.
• Previous data entry experience (minimum three months).
• Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.

Nice To Haves

• PTCB certification.
• Specialty Pharmacy experience.
• Pharmacy data entry and PBM Billing experience.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for answering in-bound calls and assisting customers with pharmacy related services.
• Obtain client information by answering telephone calls; interviewing clients; verifying information.
• Contact patients to schedule medication deliveries and verify correct address information.
• Maintains new and existing patient profiles and enters new prescriptions into patient profiles.
• Escalates calls to pharmacist for clinical inquiries and escalates grievances to supervisor.
• Ensures patient health information is preserved per HIPAA & PHI guidelines.
• Contact insurance companies for benefit investigation and coverage eligibility.
