Key Position Details: 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two-week pay period) 8-hour day shifts Occasional weekends Job Description: Provides excellent customer service in a fast paced environment. Coordinates patient intake, coverage determination, payment coordination, and delivery methods to ensure seamless patient care for those obtaining specialty medications. Principle Responsibilities Performs customer service. Manages large call volumes. Assists patients with any non-clinical questions and/or concerns. Supports patient intake, accurately enters patient demographics, history and order information into the practice management system(s). Completes referrals to specialty providers, home health, etc., where needed. Arranges for the proper delivery of the medication when needed. Processes insurance. Verifies insurance eligibility and benefits and records the information in Excellian. Supports providers and payers to expedite prior authorizations and/or formulary exceptions when needed. Helps facilitate financial support and prescription assistance for patients. Ensures Compliance Tracks patients and medication utilization. May participate in accreditation maintenance and monitoring of defined metrics. May participate in safety and quality program. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age with education and/or experience needed to meet required functional competencies as listed on the job description
  • 0 to 2 years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician - MN Board of Pharmacy required upon hire
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board required within 180 Days

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational or Technical Training from an American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) accredited pharmacy technician training program
  • 2 to 5 years of experience with advanced knowledge of insurance processing, prior authorizations and formulary resolutions
