About The Position

The Specialty Pharmacist position at Pikeville Medical Center is a per diem role focused on ensuring the accurate filling of medication orders, maintaining pharmacy security, and supporting the training of new staff. This role is essential for the daily operations of the pharmacy, providing flexibility in scheduling and requiring up to 19 hours of work per week as needed.

Requirements

• B.S. or PharmD from an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy.
• Current Kentucky Pharmacist license active and in good standing.
• 1+ years of experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy, with preference for ambulatory specialty pharmacy clinics.
• Experience using computer applications including word processing, spreadsheets, and pharmacy information systems.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, set priorities, make critical decisions, and respond to client concerns.

Responsibilities

• Fill medication orders with accuracy.
• Check technician-prepared products before release.
• Maintain security of the pharmacy and controlled substances.
• Enter orders and patient information accurately.
• Aid in the training of new staff.
• Update the Director about daily pharmacy activities.
• Assist the Director in maintaining pharmacy operations.
