About The Position

The specialty pharmacy technician will participate in advanced roles in all practice settings to expand the scope of pharmacist practice, promote efficiency, and improve patients’ access to care. Individuals in this position will demonstrate a high level of competence and skills in building professional relationships with other members of the healthcare team. Performs all functions of pharmaceutical care required of an ambulatory pharmacist. Responsible for providing medication therapy management services to assure that drug therapy is safe, effective, efficient and cost effective. Assists patients, providers and partners with chronic disease state management and education as part of an interdisciplinary team. Completes patient assessments and follow-up necessary to comply with specialty pharmacy accreditation standards. Collects and analyzes data for process improvement projects. Responsible for assisting or leading projects involving specialty pharmacy which may include sharing information and improving processes with retail pharmacy partners. Will be required to take after hours call on a rotation basis. Performs other duties as assigned or as necessity dictates.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Pharmacy Technician Certification Board require
  • BLS/CPR within 90 days
  • Illinois Licensure required, if employed in Illinois
  • Wisconsin Pharmacy Technician Registration required, if employed in Wisconsin.
