About The Position

We are seeking a qualified candidate to join our Pharmacy team as a Specialty Pharmacist supporting the 340B program. This position is primarily remote but requires periodic travel to meet on-site responsibilities. The selected candidate will be expected to work on-site for one full week per quarter to support program operations in Big Sky, and Bozeman, Montana. Additional on-site presence may be required based on business needs, audits, or other program requirements. This position can be remote. Please review the approved remote states below. Position Summary: Manages and administers operations of the 340B Drug Pricing Program to ensure regulatory compliance, operational integrity, and appropriate financial outcomes across hospital, rural health clinic, and contract pharmacy settings. Serves as the organizational subject matter expert for 340B regulations and program requirements, translating federal guidance into compliant workflows and actionable processes. Collaborates with pharmacy, finance, compliance, revenue cycle, IT, and clinical teams to support medication access for rural and underserved populations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
  • Current Montana Pharmacist license, or ability to obtain licensure upon hire.
  • 340B University Certification, or ability to obtain upon hire.
  • Advanced 340B Operations Certification (ACE), or ability to obtain within ninety (90) days of hire.
  • Five (5) years of health-system pharmacy experience.
  • Demonstrated experience administering or supporting a 340B Drug Pricing Program.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance activities, audit preparation, and cross-functional collaboration.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting rural health, critical access, or safety-net health systems.
  • Experience with contract pharmacy operations, including internal retail and external partners.
  • Experience with 340B split-billing software, pharmacy information systems, and data analysis.
  • Advanced 340B Operations Certification (ACE).

Responsibilities

  • Administers daily operations of the 340B program across the hospital covered entity, rural health center (RHC) child sites, and all contract pharmacy arrangements.
  • Applies Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) regulations, manufacturer requirements, and federal guidance to ensure ongoing program compliance.
  • Maintains accurate registration, recertification, and eligibility records for all 340B-covered sites and pharmacies within the HRSA database.
  • Develops, updates, and maintains 340B policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures applicable to hospital, clinic, and retail pharmacy workflows.
  • Monitors program activity to identify and mitigate risk related to diversion, duplicate discounts, patient definition compliance, and Medicaid billing decisions.
  • Coordinates internal reviews and supports preparation for HRSA audits, manufacturer audits, and third-party reviews, ensuring documentation accuracy and audit readiness.
  • Oversees operational compliance of internal retail pharmacies and external contract pharmacy partners, including adherence to contractual and regulatory requirements.
  • Works with pharmacy operations, finance, and revenue cycle teams to support compliant split-billing processes, inventory replenishment, and savings reconciliation.
  • Tracks and analyzes program performance metrics, including compliance indicators, utilization trends, and contract pharmacy activity.
  • Supports rural health clinic operations by aligning 340B workflows with clinic encounters, billing practices, and access-to-care goals.
  • Acts as a resource to pharmacy, compliance, legal, IT, and clinical staff by providing education and guidance on 340B requirements and processes.
  • Participates in initiatives aimed at improving medication access, program efficiency, and sustainability within regulatory parameters.
