The Instrumentation and Electrical Technician (I&E Tech) is located in TBD. This is a Monday through Friday position with on-call responsibilities nights and weekends, if needed. This is a great opportunity if you are an experienced Industrial Electrician, Electrical and Controls Technician, Electrical and Instrumentation Technician (E&I Tech), or similar. The role involves analyzing, troubleshooting, repairing, improving, and maintaining up to 480v electrical power circuits and equipment. It also includes maintaining and upgrading control and automation systems and instrumentation, electronic and pneumatic equipment used in pump stations, water plant operations, and measuring and monitoring equipment.

  • Installing, inspecting, maintaining, operating, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating various mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic equipment.
  • Knowledge of PLC programming software (AB, Emerson/GE Fanuc, Siemens).
  • Connecting a computer to a communications network.
  • Uploading/Downloading and going online.
  • Locating I/O tags and devices.
  • Interpreting project organization and execution.
  • Interpreting ladder logic structure.
  • Locating and editing tag values.
  • Interpreting bit and frequently used instructions and associated tags.
  • Forcing I/O and toggling bits.
  • Troubleshooting digital I/O, analog I/O, banked local I/O, distributed I/O, controller, power supply, and noise related problems.
  • Updating Logix5000 firmware.
  • Editing ladder logic online.
  • Completing all required documentation associated with duties.
  • Performing preventative maintenance checks on pumps, compressors, drives, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Identifying, reporting, and correcting safety and environmental concerns.
  • Performing all work in compliance with Company standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Mentoring and training employees when the opportunity presents itself.
  • Responsible for the general upkeep and maintenance of all tools and equipment needed for duties.
  • Overseeing the construction and/or maintenance activities performed by third parties.
  • Staying up to date on Operations Qualifications and required training.
  • Interfacing and communicating with customers and suppliers as required.
  • Complying with company Safety and Quality policies and Code of Conduct.
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
  • 5+ years of relevant instrumentation and electrical experience in an industrial environment.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
  • AA degree is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience to meet the essential duties of the job.
  • Experience working with water treatment equipment is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Allen Bradley and Siemens hardware and software preferred.
  • Up to 75% travel, typically within the region.
  • Work typically in outdoor environments.
