The Johns Hopkins Hospital is seeking a dedicated Specialty Nurse to join the Precision Medicine Center of Excellence for Multiple Sclerosis (MS). This role supports the institution’s mission to deliver exceptional clinical care by ensuring the safe and effective management of patients receiving multiple sclerosis (MS) and related disorders therapies, with particular focus on high-efficacy treatments. The Specialty Nurse is a key member of the multidisciplinary team, providing comprehensive safety monitoring, patient education, and ongoing clinical support. The position is responsible for coordinating and supporting essential safety-monitoring activities between clinic visits and outside of treatment days, including infusion therapies, to ensure continuity of care and optimal patient outcomes. The Specialty Nurse works closely with the infusion center and divisional nursing teams to ensure timely medication administration and collaborates regularly with neuroimmunology physicians, including scheduled meetings with the designated physician lead. Additionally, the Specialty Nurse educates patients on the importance of safety monitoring prior to treatment, promotes wellness initiatives, provides coverage for other nursing staff as needed, and collaborates with medical office coordinators to address and escalate potential safety concerns.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in Nursing required
  • Active Maryland or Compact RN license is required
  • BLS CPR certification required
  • RN experience required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with MS patients preferred
