About The Position

Under general supervision, the Cost Estimator is responsible for preparing cost estimates for product manufacturing to aid in bidding on or determining the price of a product. Reporting Relationships: This position reports to the Director, Specialty Fabrication.

Requirements

• HS Diploma or GED required, Bachelor's degree in related field preferred
• Exposure to industrial manufacturing processes preferred.
• Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
• Critical thinking skills
• Computer proficiency on a variety of office software packages.
• While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands, climb stairs, stoop, kneel, talk or hear.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move 25 pounds.
• The employee is occasionally exposed to a moderate noise level.

Responsibilities

• Review fabrication documents and understand scope of work.
• Obtain pricing for materials, sub-contract, and purchased components.
• Collect and analyze data to compute proper cost estimates for projects in the Specialty Fab department.
• Prepare estimates using Schebler's estimating software.
• Consult with project managers when needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
