About The Position

As a Certified Medical Assistant at The Chattanooga Heart Institute, you will be an indispensable clinical partner, elevating patient care and optimizing physician efficiency through advanced support. Your daily tasks will include expertly managing clinical documentation within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR), accurately performing ancillary healthcare services, and executing specific physician instructions to ensure precise and efficient patient visits. Success in this role requires advanced clinical proficiency, exceptional attention to detail, a strong aptitude for electronic health records, and a proactive approach to supporting high-quality patient care. The Chattanooga Heart Institute, founded in 1976, offers comprehensive cardiac care with six offices in Tennessee and one in Georgia, comprising 29 board-certified cardiologists and three cardiothoracic surgeons. Requirements

  • High School Graduate or High School GED
  • Completion of a Certified Medical Assistant course
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, upon hire
  • Certified Medical Assistant AAMA, upon hire
  • Certified Medical Assistant NHA, upon hire
  • National Certified Medical Assistant NCCT, upon hire
  • National Registered/Certified Medical Assistant NAHP, upon hire
  • Registered Medical Assistant AMT, upon hire
  • Registered Medical Assistant, upon hire
  • Cert Med Asst - MMCI, upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Perform and direct patient care services including, but not limited to, admission interview, accurate documentation and timely patient flow.
  • Ensure priority care is provided to patients in an emergency situation.
  • Assist healthcare providers with exams, treatments, procedures and testing as directed.
  • Accompany the physician into the exam room for the patient visit documenting in the electronic medical record (EMR) all aspects of care including, but not limited to, chief complaint , history of presenting illness, physical exam and patient plan as directed by the physician.
  • Work directly with physician to ensure the patient visit is appropriately documented.
  • Ensure optimization of physician practice by keeping current with EMR flow and templates.
