About The Position
Responsible for assisting physicians and nurses in providing quality patient care. The Chattanooga Heart Institute offers the most comprehensive cardiac care available in this region. Founded in 1976, we now have six offices in Tennessee and one in Georgia. Our practice is made up of 29 board-certified cardiologists and three cardiothoracic surgeons. We merged with CHI Memorial Health Care System in 2011 which is part of CommonSpirit Health. CommonSpirit has more than 700 care sites across the U.S. and is committed to building healthy communities.
Requirements
- Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
- BLS Certification
- AAMA-CMA; AMT-RMA; NCCT-NCMA; or NHA-CCMA
Nice To Haves
- Medical office experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Collect appropriate data and perform testing to prepare patient for physician visit.
- Maintain patient flow through the clinic.
- Pull patient voicemails and process messages to the nurses as appropriate.
- Complete patient refills as requested by both patient and pharmacy, ensuring appropriate labs are ordered as needed and protocol is followed.
- Assist nurses with patient messages as necessary.
- Assist nurses with reviewing physician blue book as necessary.
