Cake Decorator Primary Responsibilities Greet, assist, and ring out all customers politely To accurately record customers’ order/ requests for cakes and other bakery items To process customer purchases quickly and accurately by the operation of an electronic cash register, scanner and scale To review the perishable department Communication Board daily for updated materials and follow the guidelines posted for the Sampling Program and intercom announcements. To greet all customers, respond to customer questions/requests and explain store policies in a courteous manner To ice and decorate cakes and pastries to customers and company specifications To record "out-of-stock" conditions and the time they occur and report to the department manager To fill/stock: donut case, cookie case, cake case, other display cases, and counter and display tables throughout the store SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Cake Decorator reports directly to the Bakery Manager

Requirements

  • Basic Mathematics (Add, subtract, multiply, divide)
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Prior supervisory experience
  • Prior experience with oven, convection oven, mixer, fryer, bread slicer, stove, wrapper, scales, and cleaning materials
  • Lift, twist, move and carry a maximum of 50 lbs., from the floor to shelving, or overhead racks in the store and cooler/freezer
  • Maintain active signage and pricing in all departmental areas
  • Care for signs, banners, and debris from daily operations
  • Accurately and efficiently handle cash, debit/credit, EBT/WIC, coupons, and vouchers
  • Respond to customers, coworkers, and vendor questions and responses promptly and politely
  • Proper usage of store phone and intercom systems
  • Supervise/perform the checking of case and cooler temperatures 4 times daily utilizing the time keeping system to record each check
