About The Position

As a Specialized Equipment Field Technician with RHI Magnesita, you'll play a vital role in installing, maintaining, and commissioning specialized refractory maintenance and application machinery at customer sites and our York, PA shop. You'll be the go-to expert for troubleshooting, repairs, and ensuring our equipment operates safely and efficiently. You'll also support and train local service technicians, helping us deliver world-class service to our customers. Required travel up to 60% to client sites for machine installation and maintenance. When not not traveling, you would report to the York shop.

Requirements

  • Ability to travel up to 60%.
  • 2+ years in machine installation, commissioning, or maintenance.
  • Mechanical/Electrical Technician (emphasis on Electrical).
  • Maintenance and materials application experience.
  • Customer service skills.
  • Basic automation and PLC/VFD knowledge (programming not required).
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

  • Execute installation, maintenance, and commissioning of specialized machinery at customer sites and York, PA site.
  • Identify training needs and implement plans for local service technicians.
  • Report machine conditions and spare parts status to your supervisor.
  • Troubleshoot and repair specialized and standard machines as needed.
  • Ensure all machinery and equipment are safe and operational, with no risk to health or safety.
  • Coordinate technical support from third parties for repairs and maintenance.
  • Provide technical acceptance and commissioning of new machines.
  • Train machine operators and implement preventive maintenance routines.
  • Collaborate with sales teams, site personnel, and the local shop for team development.
  • Uphold company policies, department goals, and safety rules at all facilities.
  • Drive continuous improvement and take ownership of assigned work.
  • Travel up to 60% for machine installation and maintenance; 40% local shop support.
