About The Position

We are seeking a dynamic, passionate, and motivating Strength and Conditioning (S & C) Coach to join our fitness team. The S & C Coach will be leading specific strength and conditioning style group training classes in The Zone Performance room at the Englewood Recreation Center (ERC), and coaches may have the opportunity to personal train clients 1 on 1 as well at the ERC and Malley Recreation Center. The ideal candidate will also act as a mentor to other personal training staff on program design and coaching foundations for The Zone Performance classes. You'll work with clients of varying fitness levels aged 18+, guiding them through specific group classes or private sessions that meet their needs while making every interaction safe, effective, and enjoyable. Successful S & C Coaches are personable, creative, adaptable, and team-oriented, with strong communication and customer service skills.

Requirements

  • Hold a current strength and conditioning certification from a recognized organization (NSCA-CSCS, NASM-PES, or other accredited org), or a Strength and Conditioning Degree combined with any relevant certifications.
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience of strength and conditioning coaching
  • Can design innovative, fun, and challenging workout programs for all fitness levels.
  • Has strong knowledge of proper exercise techniques and equipment use, including resistance machines, free weights, and cardiovascular equipment.
  • Is comfortable working with a diverse clientele ranging from young adults to elderly of all various fitness levels in a group or private setting
  • Holds current CPR/AED certification and is committed to staying up to date with their fitness certification and CPR/AED certification.
  • Is available to work one or more of the following time windows: days, evenings, weekends and occasionally at different locations within the community.

Responsibilities

  • Coach clients through dynamic workouts, adjusting to their needs, and ensuring proper technique and safety with all equipment in The Zone Performance room.
  • Motivate clients to push themselves in a supportive, upbeat, and fun environment.
  • Keep clients engaged and excited with a variety of exercises, including cardiovascular, strength training, and flexibility exercises.
  • Offering professional modifications for exercises as needed, catering to all fitness levels, including those with special needs.
  • Mentor other personal training staff as needed on coaching the S & C classes
  • Conduct Fitness consultations with any prospective personal training clients to aid in creating personalized exercise plans.
  • Tracking progress and providing constructive feedback that helps clients feel empowered and achieve success.
  • Ensuring clients have an exceptional experience, every session, every time.
