About The Position

The Specialist, Transfer position at the Transfer Center is responsible for providing transfer planning services to students interested in transferring their Tri-C degree, coursework, and credits to another institution. The role involves one-on-one planning appointments, programming, and ongoing communications to support students throughout their academic journey, promoting retention and completion while aligning with the College's mission and values. The specialist will collaborate with various stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and four-year institutions, to ensure comprehensive support for students' educational and career goals.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in education or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of demonstrated post-secondary student services experience.
  • Demonstrated experience providing support directly to students in a post-secondary setting.
  • Demonstrated experience making sound decisions affecting a work unit or team.
  • Demonstrated experience in diverse problem-solving methods.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience with underserved, first-generation, and adult students.
  • Demonstrated experience working with community college students.
  • Demonstrated experience with Banner, DegreeWorks or other Tri-C specific programs.

Responsibilities

  • Provides individualized and holistic guidance and support to current, prospective, and former students in the transfer planning process.
  • Maintains accurate and timely documentation of student appointment outcomes, communication, and transfer plans.
  • Guides students through the transfer and scholarship application process.
  • Connects students to appropriate internal and external resources to support their academic, career, and financial plans.
  • Engages with special populations to increase conversion to degree-seeking tracks and completion rates.
  • Leads transfer stakeholder communications and outreach.
  • Manages and assesses transfer-related programming such as transfer fairs and webinars.
  • Serves as a liaison/representative of the Campus Transfer Centers.
  • Collaborates with various College departments on retention and completion initiatives.
  • Represents the department at college-wide events.
  • Develops and maintains knowledge of College transfer partnerships.
  • Collaborates with the Articulation, Transfer, and Prior Learning Department.
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with four-year school representatives.
  • Assists with metric and outcome tracking and report preparation.
  • May functionally supervise interns and support staff.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
