About The Position

The Senior Specialist, Technical Trainer at L3Harris Technologies is responsible for delivering formal training and On-the-Job Training (OJT) for various courses related to Wideband Satellite Communications (SATCOM) operations. This role involves developing and revising training materials, conducting training sessions, and ensuring that personnel are adequately trained in operational aspects of the Wideband SATCOM Operational Management System (WSOMS). The trainer will also coordinate training activities and support other training staff as needed.

Requirements

• Active Top Secret security clearance.
• Bachelor's Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience, or a Graduate Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
• SATCOM and instructional experience in a military environment.
• DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level 2 certification (e.g. Security+), or the ability to obtain certification within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Six (6) years of MILSATCOM experience.
• Experience with computer-based satellite network control systems and IT.
• Experience in using IT tools for managing and troubleshooting complex computer networks.
• Management experience of WSOTS computer networks, particularly in a Windows and AD domain environment.

Responsibilities

• Develops and revises training courses covering all aspects of the operation of the Wideband Satellite Communications Operations and Technical Support (WSOTS).
• Conducts formal training courses as listed in the Training Course Catalogue, excluding specific courses.
• Provides required operations support program training at customer sites.
• Coordinates and schedules training activities, interfacing with customers and field personnel to ensure current training requirements.
• Researches, develops, and maintains training course materials and documentation.
• Acts as first responder for IT Management Specialist (IMS) emergency issues as the training schedule permits.
• Performs OJT and informal training support as required.
• Supports other training staff and provides training to IMS and TSS personnel as required.
