About The Position

The Applied Engineering Sciences program in the College of Engineering is seeking a highly motivated, student-centered Teaching Specialist to develop and teach courses at the undergraduate level. This position is a full-time, fixed term, academic year (9-month) appointment with an anticipated start date of August 16, 2026. Applied Engineering Sciences is a multidisciplinary broad engineering degree housed in the College of Engineering with a business complement of courses. Candidates are expected to have the capacity to teach in AES and other introductory courses across the College of Engineering. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level and a strong academic or industrial background in engineering analysis, computation, design, and data analytics with experience in structured programming and data visualization (such as MATLAB, Python, Tableau, or Power BI). Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in engineering globalization, systems analysis, and sustainable system management. This is a fixed-term specialist position with an initial appointment of three years from the employee’s start date. The position is renewable contingent upon continued funding, satisfactory performance, and mutual agreement. Requirements

Master’s degree conferred by the position start date.
Significant industrial or educational experience in engineering or a doctoral degree in engineering or engineering education with experience in engineering analysis, design, computation, and data analytics.
Ability to work well in a team setting.
Independence and self-motivation.
