About The Position

L3Harris Technologies Space and Airborne Systems has an opening for a Software Integration Specialist, Systems Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Aurora, Colorado. The individual will be embedded at a customer site integrating and testing the next generation Operational Control Segment for the GPS constellation. This challenging and rewarding work involves a fast-paced environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and a collaborative team setting. Upon successful integration, test, and delivery of this system it will transition to control and maintain all of the GPS satellites (the satellites that make your Google maps location in smart phones work) that provide positioning and timing services to users across the globe. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years of prior related experience.
  • Experience with Requirements flow down/requirement allocation/requirement tracking
  • Ability to travel roughly 25% per year (mostly to Colorado Springs)
  • Experience with data analysis or scripting languages such as Python, MATLAB
  • Active DoW Secret Security Clearance

Nice To Haves

  • Experience on Next Generation Operational Control System (OCX) Program
  • Ideal candidate has a strong software background, including Java or C++ coding experience
  • Satellite payload or ground system design
  • SOA integration, JMS messaging
  • UI testing
  • Oracle Weblogic application server
  • Oracle database, JDBC, SQL
  • SOAP Web Services, use of SoapUI
  • Familiarity with defect tracking tools such as IBM ClearCase, JIRA
  • Comfortable with Linux command line operations
  • Excellent communication and writing skills
  • Ability to work closely with other disciplines
  • Experience with project management

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on software integration - Running critical, functional threads in an Ops-like, integrated environment to facilitate discovery and diagnosis of issues.
  • Initially, position may involve software defect resolution to gain system familiarity.
  • Frequent travel to end user site at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs
  • Collaborate with both co-located and remote teammates
  • Be capable of working with minimal oversight
  • Systematically investigate technical problems of varying complexity
  • Dive into unfamiliar areas and learn quickly
  • Diagnose and fix issues with web services, messaging, database, and web applications
  • Take initiative, own tasks and drive them to completion
  • Communicate clearly and proactively, both in writing and orally
  • Prioritize and make progress on multiple tasks
  • Be motivated to achieve challenging goals
