About The Position

The Specialist, Supplier Quality Engineering role at L3Harris Technologies serves as a key interface between suppliers and the company, focusing on resolving technical supplier-related issues and ensuring high-quality performance and delivery. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering or Components Engineering.
  • Minimum of 6 years of related experience.
  • Ability to focus, prioritize, and multi-task effectively.
  • Experience with MIL-STD-883 Test Method 2010-2017 and MIL-STD-750 Test Method 2066-2077.
  • Experience in electronics, inspection, soldering, and workmanship to Military Standards, J-STD-001 and IPC-A-610.
  • Applied experience in generating and evaluating 8D's (root cause and corrective action).
  • Ability to perform trend analysis.

Nice To Haves

  • Greenbelt in lean concepts and Six Sigma problem solving.
  • Experience presenting to mid-level management.
  • Working knowledge of MIL-HDBK-454, MIL-PRF-38534, and MIL-PRF-38535.
  • Familiarity with a wide range of manufacturing processes including filter assembly, metal work, coatings, and cable assembly.
  • Familiarity with alloys and intermetallic processing.
  • Experience auditing to ISO 9000 or AS9100 standards.
  • Familiarity with quality tools: SPC, FMEA/PFMEA, Kaizen, Fault Tree Analysis.
  • ASQ certifications: CQT, CSQP, CQE.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Ability to make effective decisions and exercise good judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the key interface between suppliers and L3Harris T&RF to resolve technical supplier-related material or schedule problems.
  • Support supplier risk reduction activities in collaboration with the Supply Chain team.
  • Track quality data, identify root causes of failures, and assist in developing and implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensure suppliers maintain high performance levels in quality and delivery.
  • Administer and execute processes for controlling nonconforming material related to Receiving Inspection and supplier performance issues.
  • Visit supplier sites to audit processes, review technical plans, and perform inspections to ensure compliance and quality targets.
  • Administer Supplier Corrective Actions Reports (SCARs) and verify implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Procurement to improve supplier performance and processes.
  • Support the maintenance of the approved manufacturers list (AML) and review supplier performance periodically.
  • Participate in FMEA, Process Capability, Control plans, and supplier qualification processes.
  • Drive supplier risk reduction activities from procurement through delivery.
  • Generate and manage supplier ratings/scorecards for communication of needed improvements or successes.
  • Implement and conduct supplier Partnership Reviews, Zero Defect Plans (ZDP), and Manufacturing Readiness Reviews (MRRs) as required.
