Top Skills for Success Strong customer service and communication skills Dependability and professionalism Cerner experience ( preferred ) Previous medical office experience ( a plus ) General customer service background Key Responsibilities Patient check‑in and check‑out Managing pool messages and Ecare tasks Scheduling and rescheduling patient appointments Handling incoming calls and directing patients/visitors appropriately Collecting and verifying demographic, financial, and insurance information Explaining department/hospital policies, procedures, and patient charges Entering charges and collecting payments as needed Ensuring smooth patient flow throughout the practice Expected Competency: Able to work independently within 3 months Requirements High School Diploma or GED required Relevant experience in a healthcare setting preferred Ability to learn and retain medical coding; ICD‑10 and CPT coding preferred Ability to interpret insurance information; knowledge of clinical practices and medical terminology preferred Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
