This position plays a key role in facilitating patient flow from entry to destination in a timely, accurate, and professional manner. The role involves gathering financial and demographic information, scheduling appointments, and ensuring a smooth patient experience. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Relevant experience in a healthcare setting preferred
  • Ability to learn and retain medical coding (ICD-10, CPT) preferred
  • Familiarity with interpreting insurance information and clinical practices
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)

Responsibilities

  • Greet and direct patients and visitors appropriately
  • Schedule appointments and interview patients for medical and insurance information
  • Explain department and hospital charges and policies
  • Validate and enter charges into appropriate systems
  • Collect necessary payments
  • Answer incoming calls and provide accurate information or direction
