About The Position

This position supports patient flow from entry to destination in a timely, accurate, and professional manner. Responsibilities include gathering financial and demographic information to ensure accurate records and optimal reimbursement, scheduling appointments and interviewing patients for medical information, explaining departmental/hospital charges and policies, validating and entering charges into appropriate systems, collecting necessary payments, and answering incoming calls and directing patients and visitors appropriately.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Prior experience in a healthcare setting preferred
• Ability to learn and retain medical coding (ICD-10, CPT preferred)
• Understanding of insurance information and clinical practices
• Familiarity with medical terminology preferred
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
