About The Position

The Specialist, Recruitment and New Student is responsible for conducting and coordinating off-campus recruitment and outreach activities to facilitate the transition of new students into the college community. The role aims to increase the number of applicants and enroll a diverse student body by engaging with prospective students, parents, and high school counselors. This position requires establishing and nurturing relationships to promote the opportunities available at the State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota (SCF) across its campuses and online programs.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Two years of related experience in sales, customer service, account management, or higher education recruitment.
  • Knowledge of the geographical area and local cultures preferred.
  • Knowledge of collegiate recruitment, admissions, and registration practices preferred.

  • Leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage assigned high school recruiting territory and maintain relationships with guidance counselors, administrators, and teachers.
  • Be knowledgeable about the admissions process for new students, including policies, standardized tests, financial aid, and registration procedures.
  • Represent SCF and deliver recruitment presentations at high schools and community events.
  • Implement programming to recruit, identify, and track students interested in SCF.
  • Adhere to specific admission targets and fulfill recruitment goals.
  • Communicate with prospective students, applicants, and parents via various channels.
  • Guide students and families through the admissions process.
  • Coordinate and participate in college recruitment initiatives, including campus tours and open house events.
  • Assist in facilitating new student orientation sessions and activities.
  • Participate in the development of the annual recruitment and orientation calendar.
  • Develop and implement strategies to establish relationships with organizations that can influence prospective students.
  • Assist with communication campaigns to ensure students successfully navigate the admissions process.
  • Report statistical data on outreach initiatives and application numbers as requested.
  • Serve on college-wide committees and advisory boards as assigned.
