The Catalloy Process Specialist is accountable for providing technical support for the daily operations of the Bayport Plant. The position is a gatekeeper of process technical knowledge and ensures process safety is not compromised. The position manages the daily production activities for the plant process units and identifies operational problems, promotes troubleshooting and solutions. In addition, the Process Specialist has the responsibility to interact with the business organization for production targets and goals. The position ensures proper maintenance and outage activities are being executed to ensure plant reliability, quality, production, safety and environmental compliance. The process specialist builds partnerships and grows capabilities of operations and technical group staff in their development of unit operating knowledge and managing desired changes to the process operation and design.

Requirements

  • Minimum ten (10) plus years of plant operations/maintenance experience in the Catalloy or Spheripol technology.
  • Shift or Step-Up Supervisor experience is a plus.
  • Thorough technical understanding of plant processes and deep understanding of unit operations.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Minimum of High School or GED.

Responsibilities

  • Directing the day to day activities of the process unit: Updating daily operating instructions, reviewing maintenance notifications to communicate priorities and outage plans with PMC, troubleshooting and developing solutions to abnormal operating conditions, audit and monitor units to maximize quality, production and reliability.
  • Ensure process safety of the units are maintained and evaluated to prevent incidents and continuously improve.
  • Liaison between business, ops planning, R D, and ADTS groups outside the plant to ensure plant manufacturing KPIs and goals can be met aligned with said groups.
  • Investigate unit and equipment incidents to develop root cause solutions while utilizing the H&OP principles.
  • Critical to the development of operator understanding through qualifications of the unit operators and development of technical group engineers with unit operating knowledge and managing desired changes to the process operation and design.
