About The Position

The incumbent in this position is responsible for performing routine and advanced level payroll and accounts payable duties as well as completing general ledger account analyses and assisting with financial month end closing responsibilities. The incumbent will also serve as a mentor and team lead to the A/P and Payroll Clerks.

Requirements

  • This knowledge and these abilities are typically acquired through an Associate’s Degree in Business or Accounting and one years’ related experience in both accounts payable and payroll; or through the completion of a high school degree and three to five years’ experience with automated payroll/accounts payable systems.
  • Must obtain and maintain valid licenses / certifications per Federal, State and ERGC Gaming regulations.
  • Must successfully pass background check.
  • Must successfully pass drug screening.
  • Must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age.
  • Understanding of income-control functions.
  • Excellent communication skills, and commitment to outstanding service.
  • Microsoft Word, and Outlook
  • Basic to Intermediate Excel
  • Strict confidentiality.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
  • Ability to work both independently and with a team to achieve objectives
  • Ability to work under pressure and achieve required deadlines
  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Use a computer, keyboard, and 10-key calculator.

Responsibilities

  • Creates an atmosphere that induces guests to make Hard Rock Sacramento at Fire Mountain their choice for gaming entertainment; responsible for actively building and retaining guest relations and acts as a mentor to team members in order to provide superior guest service.
  • Lead and participate in the daily invoice matching and entry process which includes confirmation of approval levels, sales and use tax compliance, and G/L coding in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for daily invoice batch audit(s) and posting(s) and coordination of team activities.
  • Responsible for weekly check run and voucher preparation.
  • Reconciliation of vendor statements to A/P, including vendor contact and follow up as needed; ability to troubleshoot and rectify complex vendor payment situations and disputes.
  • Responsible for the accuracy, efficiency, and timeliness of all payrolls in accordance with the company policy and federal/state regulations.
  • Responsible for all payroll related garnishment and child support processing which includes set up, interim reporting, payments and reconciliation.
  • Lead and assist with month end close processing and duties as assigned.
  • Preparation of year end W2’s and Miscellaneous 1099’s.
  • Ensure overall integrity of the A/P and Payroll files and records.
  • Sit and perform data entry for extended periods of time.
  • Perform mathematical calculations.
  • Must be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
  • Perform work regularly and predictably.
  • Other duties as assigned.
