About The Position

The Onboarding Credentialing Specialist is a dedicated individual who serves as the primary point of contact for new providers, guiding them through the onboarding and credentialing verification process, providing personalized support, and addressing any questions that arise. Key aspects of a Credentialing Specialist role: • Responsible for verifying and maintaining the accuracy of medical staff credentials, licenses, and certifications, ensuring that providers meet the necessary qualifications to practice legally by monitoring renewal dates and advising staff on necessary steps to maintain their credentials; this often involves reviewing and authenticating supporting documentation such as licenses, certifications, and professional history to comply with regulatory standards. • Review and screen initial and reappointment applications for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with federal, state, local regulations, guidelines, policies, and standards. • To ensure existing hires are cross privileged timely and coordinate directly with the provider and hospital/office-based locations. • Managing the credentialing application process for providers, including collecting required documentation and verifying information. • Ensure individuals comply with all legal and regulatory requirements. This may involve checking if licenses are valid, certifications are up-to-date, and professionals meet the necessary educational or training standards. • Maintain comprehensive databases or records of credentialed individuals or organizations. This includes updating information and ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of data.
