A Non-Merit vacancy exists in the Department of Health and Human Services, Bureau of Behavioral and Community Health. Non-Merit positions are not classified within the Baltimore County Government Classification and Compensation Plan.   • Build and maintain a trusting professional relationship with the recovery specialist under their supervision that helps the peer recovery specialist meet job performance goals.
  • Model ethical boundaries between peer and supervisor to ensure ethical boundaries between peer support staff and program participants.
  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality of information disclosed during supervision that meets legal and professional requirements.
  • Evaluate and provide feedback to ensure that Peer Recovery Specialists are helping people served meet their goals.
  • Understand and support core values of peer support by building and maintaining effective working relationships with peer recovery specialists.
  • Establish professional relationships based on mutual respect and recovery principles.
  • Ensure that all Baltimore County Health Department policies and procedures are followed.
  • Work with the program supervisor to effectively monitor the staff documentation and provide technical support when necessary.
  • High School Diploma.
  • At least two years of working as a certified peer recovery specialist in a professional environment.
  • Certified in Maryland as a Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) and as a Registered Peer Supervisor (RPS).
  • Proof of Licenses, Certifications and Education must be submitted with each application.
