About The Position

PHI Health is looking for dynamic, driven individuals to join our team as a Specialist in Occupational Health RN. This position plays a crucial role in orchestrating the seamless operations that keep our advanced fleet soaring and our patients safe. Under the general direction of the Director, HR Service Delivery, the Specialist will effectively coordinate all workers’ compensation (WC) cases/claims, including general administration, comprehensive case management, and compliance. The role involves collaboration with subject matter experts in Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality (HSEQ) and clinical teams to maintain the highest level of expertise. The Specialist will also be responsible for the review and approval of the employee return-to-work process and will provide exemplary customer service and assistance to employees and management.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Arizona RN license in good standing.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Three years of experience managing workers’ compensation claims.
  • Three years of clinical experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to problem solve internal/external customer issues.
  • Ability to work with Microsoft products and databases.
  • Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with employee occupational health.
  • Previous experience with leaves of absence.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the WC program in accordance with applicable OSHA and WC laws.
  • Coordinate all work-related injuries and exposures.
  • Ensure timely submission of relevant medical documentation for injured employees.
  • Maintain contact with employees on WC leave and coordinate the return-to-work process.
  • Submit reportable WC claims to the Company’s WC insurance vendor.
  • Conduct investigations of alleged fraudulent WC claims.
  • Produce and manage reporting metrics and analytics for WC claims.
  • Ensure HIPAA and Employee Privacy guidelines are monitored and executed.
  • Serve as a medical resource to supervisors and injured workers.
  • Review requests for declination of Occupational Health requirements.
  • Facilitate Fitness for Duty evaluations.
  • Provide back-up for the Manager, Occupational Health & Infection Control.
  • Rotate on-call for after-hours response to work-related injuries and exposures.
