Position Summary: The Nurse Educator, as part of the nursing leadership team, provides leadership that reflects the vision, mission, and philosophy of the Nursing Department and PNHS. The Nurse Educator facilitates best nursing practice and enhances safe, quality patient care by: Planning, developing, and conducting professional educational opportunities for employees of PNHS in a quality conscious and cost-effective manner. Establishing a work environment that promotes learning by individual growth/development, professional practice, and a collaborative team approach to assure excellence in delivery of quality, age-specific care and high level of staff satisfaction. Conducting unit-based consultation for clinical quality excellence. Scope of Responsibility: Provides quality and timely information to the Director of Nursing and Patient Care, Oncology Operational Directors, and to Clinical Nursing Leaders regarding the educational needs of staff related to the specific patient populations of the oncology Departments at HealthPartners Medical Group and Park Nicollet including collaboration with Cancer Centers of Western Wisconsin locations. Works with a wide variety of people at all levels within and on behalf of the organization. Maintains a current working knowledge of the philosophies, policies, standards, procedures, and health and safety programs for HealthPartners. Serves as a role model for effective interpersonal, interdisciplinary, and interdepartmental relationships. Participates in educational activities that further his/her professional growth and development. Assists with quality programs to ensure compliance. This position will be required to have a Minnesota and Wisconsin Nursing License. Supervision/Work Direction: Collaborates with patient care unit leadership and practice specialists (e.g. Administrative Directors, Managers, Clinicians, Supervisors, Educators etc.) to provide competency based orientation and ongoing staff development. Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 40 hrs weekly / 1.0 FTE
