About The Position

The Network Engineer role is part of the Technology, Security, Innovation, and Agility team at Amadeus Colombia, based in Bogotá. This department is responsible for engineering, commissioning, maintaining, and supporting networking components and solutions across Amadeus' global infrastructure. The team is committed to service quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and global standards. As a Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting Amadeus' global network infrastructure, including WAN, Internet, Points of Presence (PoPs), and customer-specific solutions. This position combines technical expertise, project coordination, and innovation to help ensure high-performance, secure, and cost-effective network operations.

Requirements

• University degree or equivalent professional experience in network engineering, preferably in a global or large-scale environment.
• At least 3 years of experience in a similar network engineering role, ideally within a large, international organization.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable working in a multicultural and collaborative environment.
• Proficiency in network architecture, technologies, and operations.
• Solid knowledge of cloud networking and Internet technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Juniper routers (certification is a plus).
• Practical experience using Ansible for automation and Python for scripting.
• Project coordination skills, especially in remote and distributed environments.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively in both verbal and written formats.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
• Willingness to learn continuously and keep up with evolving technology trends.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate in the architecture, design, and deployment of Amadeus' global WAN, Internet, and customer-specific networks.
• Contribute to researching, testing, and integrating emerging network technologies and solutions.
• Participate in evaluating and testing network hardware and service provider solutions.
• Help develop and maintain Amadeus' networking standards and solution portfolios.
• Analyze performance and conduct capacity planning to ensure reliable and scalable network operations.
• Enhance network automation capabilities using tools such as Ansible.
• Use Python to develop and maintain scripts that support automation, monitoring, and configuration tasks.
• Assist in designing cost-effective network topologies aligned with strategic business goals.
• Lead or support implementation projects, including planning, execution, and coordination.
• Provide third-level on-call support on a rotational basis and contribute to knowledge-sharing across teams.
