The Opportunity This position works out of our Abbott Park, IL (Lake Bluff, IL) location in the Transfusion Medicine business. Our diagnostic solutions are used in hospitals, laboratories, and clinics around the globe. The crucial information derived from our tests, instruments and informatics systems are often the first step in patient care decision making for hundreds of health conditions from heart attacks to blood disorders to infectious diseases and cancers. As the Specialist Manufacturing Technician, you’ll produce high quality diagnostic assay components in a GMP regulated environment. What You’ll Work On Performs routine lab operations and basic manufacturing operations. May assist in performing more complex operations. Performs basic electronic transactions associated with systems used for inventory management and document control. Works under direct supervision to make decisions that impact quality, productivity, and cost. Documents work activities, maintains inventory records and assists with conducting inventory verification checks as needed. Accountable for: a) Working closely with supervisor to complete assigned work orders in a manner that achieves overall schedule requirements. b) Documenting activities in an accurate, timely and complete manner. c) Maintaining accurate inventory records and processing all related ERP transactions in a timely manner d) Performing assigned activities in a manner that contributes to the achievement of team productivity and financial goals. e) Working with supervisor to resolve basic issues that arise during day-to-day operations. f) Working safely and in accordance with all applicable policies and procedures. g) Understanding job training requirements and ensuring that training is conducted on time.
