About The Position

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented leader to serve as our Specialist II, Standards. In this key role you will manage the development and continuous improvement of NSF technical standards and procedures. This dynamic position blends leadership, collaboration, and innovation—connecting experts, guiding projects, and ensuring our standards remain top-tier in a rapidly evolving field.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in public health, environmental health, or a related scientific or technical area of study, or two years of relevant college course work and (5) years relevant experience.
  • A minimum of three (3) years relevant work experience in an NSF related industry (i.e., food safety, water safety, sustainability/green, health and pharmaceuticals, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with limited direction.
  • Strong organizational, time and project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Lead committee volunteers and NSF staff in all standards development and revision activities for assigned Standards areas according to NSF and accreditation body requirements including: chairing and/or facilitating task group activities; writing and editing standards for publication; planning and promoting stakeholder meetings and events; serving as a liaison with labs, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders to resolve technical disputes within standards; and ensuring compliance with ANSI and NSF policies and procedures
  • Actively identify and seek new business development opportunities consistent with NSF’s mission and business within assigned operating area.
  • Communicate regularly with certification programs in the assigned operating area to establish workloads and business priorities.
  • Coordinate with marketing on media releases regarding Standards development and revisions.
  • Provide quarterly reports on new projects and milestones.
  • Identify and implement process improvements in NSF standards development process.
