Our Tanner, AL location is an integrated mill manufacturing high quality premium and ultra-premium forged bar and billet products from melt to ship. Position Title: SPECIALIST I – EHS

Requirements

  • Two-year college degree in related safety science field, engineering or manufacturing.
  • 0-2 years of safety or manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the Organization.
  • Ability to operate a computer workstation and the appropriate software/hardware, and to work in a production-oriented environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, well organized and the ability to prioritize tasks and make appropriate decisions.
  • Willing to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Works with direction in providing input to departmental resources on EH&S related matters.
  • Provides support in implementation of measures to help protect employees from potentially hazardous work methods, processes, or materials.
  • Investigate accidents to identify root causes and report results to management.
  • Inspects and evaluates workplace environments, equipment, and practices to ensure compliance with safety standards and government regulations.
  • Supports engineers/management in the institution of control and remedial measures for hazardous and potentially hazardous conditions or equipment.
  • Participate in multi-discipline problem solving teams.
  • Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.
