This role is part of Alcon's Manufacturing function, a team that designs, produces and delivers innovative eyecare products to more than 140 countries through operational excellence and efficiency. The Specialist I (Para-Professional & Support Path), is primarily responsible for handling tasks related to tools and equipment, performing quality inspections, and operating automated equipment. You will maintain high production standards and efficiency through technical skills and adherence to procedures. In addition, you will be trusted to perform machine setups and adjustments, solve routine operating problems, understand and verify specifications, and evaluate product quality. Specifics include: Handle manual and operational tasks related to tools, equipment, and materials with minimal supervision Perform machine setups and adjustments, including tooling placement, raw material acquisition, and CNC turning center loading Operate automated equipment and conduct optical tool inspections, assemblies, line clearances, mechanical checks, and changeovers Perform quality inspections using gauges and fixtures; monitor quality statistically to ensure compliance with standards Lead and maintain product quality throughout the manufacturing process, diagnosing and resolving routine operating issues Read, understand, and verify product specifications and documentation Follow SOPs, GMPs, and GDPs while maintaining accurate documentation and verifying applicable records Meet individual job requirements and contribute to overall compliance and continuous improvement initiatives

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English
  • Work hours: 36 - 48 hours per week: 5:00 PM EST - 5:00 AM EST (12-hour rotating day shift: 2 nights on, 2 nights off, and every other weekend)
  • Location: Onsite

Responsibilities
