About The Position

The Environmental Specialist is an individual contributor who serves in an environmental and limited health and safety support role for the Clinton organization. They shall possess an in-depth knowledge of the Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) program requirements and will apply regulatory, process, and organizational knowledge to maintain regulatory compliance in the program. The candidate will proactively track maintenance schedules and project work to ensure all applicable components are properly monitored and maintained in the LDAR database at the Clinton site. This person will be expected to work independently, develop professionally, and provide consistent communication around program requirements.

Requirements

  • Highschool Diploma or GED.
  • Capable of working in cold, hot, and wet environments, at moderate to high levels of physical exertion for extended periods, along with the ability to climb ladders, stairs, work at heights, and wear a respirator.

Nice To Haves

  • Candidates with an industrial process background, environmental regulatory knowledge, or LDAR experience is strongly preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) field support, including performing leak monitoring, instrument maintenance and calibration, route building and maintenance, and leak repair tracking and communication.
  • Perform LDAR program QA/QC work, including LDAR tagging repair/missing tag replacement, and LDAR database QA/QC work.
  • Complete LDAR program updates due to equipment modifications.
  • Monitor maintenance outlooks for leak monitoring or tagging impacts.
  • Assist in waste container management, including completing and maintaining HazMat DOT certification, performing waste container inspections, performing hazardous waste storage pad inspections, and manifesting hazardous waste shipments.
  • Maintain pipeline awareness program.
  • Conduct environmental verification of compliance audits, effectively communicating results.
  • Own and actively manage site HSE systems to ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate requirements.
  • Effectively manage multiple tasks and delegate tasks that can be performed by support personnel or other professionals.
  • Interact with supervision, technicians, and maintenance staff to ensure a consistent understanding of both regulatory and site requirements.
  • Understand the operations units and processes to which the regulations and requirements must be applied.
  • Establish measurable objectives, monitor performance, and track progress.
  • Host OE and agency inspections and maintain systems and supporting documentation to illustrate compliance with regulatory and OE requirements.
