About the position

The HR Shared Service Specialist plays a crucial role in Ford Motor Company's Human Resources team, focusing on attracting, hiring, and retaining top talent. This position involves acting as a trusted representative for local colleagues and employees in California, resolving complex HR-related inquiries and transactions while enhancing employee experiences. The role requires a deep understanding of HR processes, California state laws, and the ability to build strong relationships within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Intake, prioritize, and resolve HR policy/process inquiries and escalations, particularly complex cases.
  • Apply policy/process expertise to handle executive-level inquiries, such as leaves of absence and paycheck discrepancies.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of California state laws and regulations relevant to HR processes.
  • Liaise with People First colleagues and key partners to ensure efficient resolution of HR issues.
  • Participate in special projects and initiatives, including organizational designs and data integrity maintenance exercises.
  • Proactively identify systemic issues and develop solutions to enhance employee experiences.
  • Model customer service excellence and share best practices with the People First Team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, or equivalent work experience.
  • 3+ years of work experience in Human Resources or a related field.
  • Experience with HR systems such as Oracle or Visier is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Prior experience as an HR Business Partner or in a customer-facing role is advantageous.
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills are essential.
  • Critical thinking skills to anticipate challenges and act proactively are necessary.
  • Ability to strategically triage work and execute with attention to detail is important.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in systems used by Ford HR (i.e., Oracle, Visier, etc.).
  • Prior experience working as an HR Business Partner or related customer-facing role.
  • Development mindset to pursue opportunities for growth in diverse disciplines.
