Reporting to our Company’s Global Supply Chain Director, the Specialist will support the development and implementation of global trade compliance policies, procedures, and related training. The Specialist will interface with internal customers, external vendors, and service providers as needed. This role is a key part of the team driving global trade compliance policies and procedures within our Company Animal Health. Additionally, the Specialist will assist the Director in conducting audits of our Company Animal Health import and export operations globally. The Animal Health Trade Compliance Team is primarily responsible for identifying trade compliance requirements, supporting various our Company Animal Health locations with trade questions and issues, implementing policies and procedures, and ensuring our Company Animal Health compliance through audits and assessments.

  • Develop and maintain divisional policies, guidelines, and standards that support compliant and efficient trade compliance systems.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to sites and other local operations to align local Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with corporate and divisional policies.
  • Drive the implementation of GTC Global Standards, collaborating with the GTC Center of Excellence (COE) and Global Trade Management (GTM) when necessary.
  • Develop and update trade compliance training materials related to the GTC Global Standards and requirements, and support training for involved employees using the best possible methods.
  • Act as the liaison between our Company Corporate Global Trade Compliance and the Animal Health business.
  • Support due diligence and implementation of proposed Business Development (BD) projects (M&A, Divestitures, Joint Ventures).
  • Interpret regulatory trade requirements into consistent and effective trade processes, systems, and tools.
  • Conduct detailed trade compliance audits of our Company’s global export and import operations and generate audit reports.
  • Assist local sites in developing robust CAPA plans with realistic implementation timelines.
  • Review and approve evidence of CAPA completion to ensure compliance with company policy and local regulations.
  • Support Global Logistics and others in continuously improving our Company Animal Health trade compliance risk level.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Minimum 4 to 6 years of functional expertise in international trade or equivalent.
  • Conceptual and practical expertise in Global Trade Compliance and Global Trade Operations.
  • Working knowledge of import, export, and country-specific trade regulations.
  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to clearly explain complex technical regulations and assist in the development of policies and standards.
  • Audit experience and skills desired.
  • Strong project management experience and ability to drive CAPA and continuous improvement.
  • Prior experience interfacing with international companies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word).
  • Experience or ability to work with global trade management systems like ACE, SAP GTS.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel internationally up to 15% of the time.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Broker’s License or advanced degree preferred.
