About The Position

As a Specialist, you will support our people served with daily activities that include working on outcomes designed for each person served at a variety of residential group homes. Outcomes are designed to increase independence in skills. These may include learning more about community resources, finding hobbies, working on personal cares, and meal preparations/planning or budgeting. We tailor our services to each person and their needs and wishes. Additionally, as a Specialist, the position entails medication administration, cooking, cleaning, and personal cares for persons served.

Requirements

• 2 years of experience with mental health diagnosis and intellectual disabilities.
• Experience with high behaviors including verbal and physical aggressions.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• Proficient in spoken and written English language.
• Comfortable providing personal cares including bathroom supports and medication administration.
• Successful clearance of Department of Human Services background check.
• Successful clearance of Motor Vehicle Background Check and acceptable driving record.

Nice To Haves

• At least 2 years supporting individuals with autism, intellectual disabilities, and/or mental health diagnosis.
• At least 2 years working with individuals with verbal and physical aggressions.
• Experience implementing Emergency Use of Manual Restraints.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals with daily activities in residential group homes.
• Work on outcomes designed to increase independence in skills for each person served.
• Assist individuals in learning about community resources and finding hobbies.
• Provide personal cares including bathroom supports, bathing/showering, and medication administration.
• Engage in meal preparations and planning or budgeting.
• Administer medications as required.
• Perform cooking and cleaning duties as needed.
