About The Position

The Financial Reporting Specialist is responsible for gathering data and preparing documents required by the SEC for external financial reporting including the 10-Q, 10-K, and 8-K and supporting the month-end close process. Additionally, this position will be responsible for other areas assigned, which could include Prepaids Assets, Other Gains and Charges (OG&C), Debt, XBRL tagging of SEC filings and various ad hoc requests. This position will report to the Senior Manager of Financial Reporting.

Requirements

  • College degree in Accounting or related work experience preferred, hospitality/restaurant experience a plus.
  • 0-2 years of accounting experience preferred.
  • CPA candidate eligibility preferred, not required.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
  • Team-oriented with good verbal and written communication skills and an ability to build relationships effectively.
  • Motivated self-starter who can work independently, solve problems, and drive for results.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality on proprietary business information.
  • Proficient in Excel.
  • Self-starter with strong organization skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate and influence effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of 10-K, 10-Q, and press release filings with the SEC, including the disclosure checklist, financial statements and related notes.
  • Preparation and/or review of tie out support for 10-K, 10-Q, and press release.
  • Preparation and/or review of Consolidated balance sheet and balance sheet analysis in Workiva.
  • Monthly close procedures, including any required journal entries, account reconciliations and other schedules related to areas assigned.
  • Support Governmental Census requests.
  • Regular communication with the auditors.
  • Maintain appropriate SOX compliance documentation.
  • Complete various ad hoc projects and tasks as needed.
