About The Position

The Specialist, Financial Aid at Kellogg Community College is responsible for maintaining accurate records related to financial aid documentation and electronic student files. This role involves troubleshooting reports, assisting with activities and events, and providing expertise on the Federal Financial Aid process to various stakeholders. The position requires regular communication with compliance authorities and community organizations to ensure effective financial aid operations.

Requirements

  • Associate degree AND one (1) year of relevant experience OR one (1) year of post-secondary education and two (2) years' relevant experience OR three (3) years' relevant experience.
  • Ability to work with MS Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook at an intermediate level.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an active, multi-tasked, automated work environment.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
  • Entry-level experience with student information systems (SIS), such as Ellucian Colleague, Banner, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and thorough records on all incoming and outgoing documentation associated with Financial Aid and electronic student files.
  • Run and troubleshoot related reports.
  • Assist with activities and special events related to Financial Aid.
  • Provide expertise to stakeholders regarding the Federal Financial Aid process.
  • Communicate regularly with internal and external compliance authorities and stakeholders.
